The Washington Redskins and LT Trent Williams have yet to have any serious contract talks regarding a long-term extension, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
However, said Williams said he’s still hoping to get an extension worked out with Washington at some point.
Williams also confirmed that he has parted ways with his agent, Ben Dogra, but has retained Vincent Taylor of MS World LLC.
It’s worth mentioning that Redskins HC Jay Gruden has said that he would to extend Williams’ contract, so there appears to be mutual interest in getting something worked out before next March.
Williams, 26, is in the final year of his six-year, $60 million contract that included $36.75 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $10.25 million for the 2015 season to go along with a cap figure of $13.7 million.
In 2014, Williams appeared in 15 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 18 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.
