Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports that Ty Warren will under go hip surgery ending his season. The Patriots wasted little time by placing the star Defensive End on the IR. The team has since called up Derrick Burgess to replace the Warren.
This comes as a big blow to New England who has very few veteran players of the caliber of Warren. This could accelerate the teams pursuit of free agent Aaron Schobel. Other options exist but Schobel is considered to be the best available.
