Veteran S Danieal Manning Announces Retirement From NFL

Veteran safety Danieal Manning announced that he’s retiring from the NFL on Tuesday, via the Houston Texans.

Manning, 32, is a former second round pick of the Bears back in 2006. He spent five years in Chicago before signing on with the Texans as an unrestricted free agent in July of 2011.

Manning was an unrestricted free agent, but hadn’t found any reported interest since free agency got underway several months ago.

After nine years in the NFL, Manning’s career ends with him recording 434 tackles, four sacks, 11 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, four recoveries, and one defensive touchdown.

He was a first-team All-Pro selection during the 2008 season.
