Veteran TE C.J. Uzomah announced his retirement as a Cincinnati Bengal on social media after 10 years in the NFL.

Uzomah captioned the post with the following statement:
“History has a way of repeating itself and there’s no place I’d want to formally announce my retirement, than the place that started it all for me and gave me my chance. The place I will always think of as my second home and will always hold a special place in me and my family’s heart. The place where we won a playoff game for the first time since before I was born, and went on an odds defying run to the Super Bowl. A place I’ve met people who have become like brothers to me. Cincinnati, thank you for everything.

Uzomah, 33, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in the 2015 draft out of Auburn. He played out the final year of his four-year rookie contract before agreeing to a three-year, $18 million deal with the Bengals in 2019.
Uzomah was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent when he signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the Jets.
New York cut him loose in 2024, and he signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia, where he went back and forth between the practice squad and active roster.
In his career, Uzomah appeared in 113 games over 10 years with the Bengals, Jets and Eagles. He caught 192 passes for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns
