Vikings Contacted WR Jarius Wright, But “Low Chance” Of Him Returning

According to Chris Tomasson, the Vikings have had contact with the representatives for free agent WR Jarius Wright. However, Tomasson says there’s a “low chance” of Wright returning to the Vikings.

Minnesota signed WR Tajae Sharpe to a contract last week, so it’s possible that their interest was contingent on what happened with Sharpe. Although, that’s just speculation on my part.

Wright, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2012. He was in the fourth year of his five-year, $15.46 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed when the Vikings cut him back in 2018.

The Panthers later signed Wright to a two-year deal worth up to $3.5 million. However, they declined his option at the start of the 2020 league year, making him an unrestricted free agent.

In 2019, Wright appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 28 passes for 296 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
