Vikings Have Offer To G Nick Easton, Others Teams In The Mix

Chris Tomasson reports that the Vikings have made an offer to free agent G Nick Easton.

Easton recently visited with the Saints and Tomasson says he has a couple of other teams in the mix for his services.

Tomasson can see Easton possible making another visit or two before coming to a decision at some point next week.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman said Thursday that they are in contact with Easton’s agent regarding a new deal, per Andrew Krammer. Spielman added that Easton still fits the athletic build they’re looking for.

Easton, 26, originally signed on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out Harvard back in 2015. He was later traded to the 49ers return for a seventh-round pick.

San Francisco elected to trade Easton to the Vikings for LB Gerald Hodges a few months later. Unfortunately, Easton missed the 2018 season after undergoing surgery to correct a herniated disc in his neck.

In 2017, Easton appeared in 12 games for the Vikings and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 56 guard out of 78 qualifying players.
