Chris Tomasson reports that after losing Nick Easton to the Saints, the Vikings have “ramped up” their interest in re-signing OL Brett Jones and they’re expected to make him offer soon.
According to Tomasson, Jones also has interest from the Seahawks, Jets, Eagles and Chiefs.
Jones, 27, was selected in the second round of 2013 CFL draft by the Calgary Stampeders. In just two years with the Stampeders, Jones has won CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award (2013) and the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award (2014).
Jones signed on with the Giants back in 2015 and returned to New York on a one-year restricted deal worth $2.914 million for the 2018 season. The Giants later traded him to the Vikings in August for a 2019 seventh-round pick.
In 2018, Jones appeared in all 14 games for the Vikings and played 191 total snaps.
