Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport report that Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf reiterated their belief in coach Mike Zimmer and GM Rick Spielman.
“There won’t be changes here,” a source tells Pelissero of the Vikings.
There was some speculation going around that Zimmer could be worth watching in Minnesota after the team failed to make the playoffs this season.
However, Zimmer told Pelisssero: “I’m not retiring or resigning. Period.”
Zimmer, 62, began his NFL coaching career with the Cowboys back in 1994 as their DBs coach. He worked his way up to defensive coordinator and had stints with the Falcons and Bengals before the Vikings hired him as their head coach in 2014.
During his five years as Vikings’ head coach, Zimmer has led the team to a record of 47-32-1 (59.4 percent), which includes two playoff appearances and one trip to the NFC Championship game.
