Vikings Release WR Jarius Wright

The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that they’ve released WR Jarius Wright.

Wright, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2012. He was in the fourth year of his five-year, $15.46 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $3.6 million over the final two years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Wright will free up $2,640,000 of available cap space while creating $2,120,000 in dead money.

In 2017, Wright appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and caught 18 passes for 198 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
