The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that they’ve signed WR Dillon Mitchell to a reserve/future contract for the upcoming season.
Mitchell becomes the ninth player to be signed to a futures deal by the Vikings. The full list of players signed includes:
- QB Jake Browning
- TE Brandon Dillon
- CB Mark Fields
- WR Davion Davis
- RB Tony Brooks-James
- DB Kemon Hall
- CB Marcus Sayles
- DE Stacy Keely
- WR Dillon Mitchell
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Mitchell, 22, is a former seventh-round pick of the Vikings back in 2019. He agreed to a four-year, $2.6 million contract with Minnesota, but he was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Vikings did, however, re-sign Mitchell to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
During this three-year college career at Oregon, Mitchel caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns over the course of 29 games.
