Vikings Sign WR Jerome Simpson

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a one-year deal with WR Jerome Simpson.

Earlier in the day, it was reported thatย Simpson will be suspended for three-games next season after heย violated the league’s substance abuseย policy last year.

Simpson had a number of offers from NFL teams in recent days, but chose to stay an extra night in Minnesota, which was a pretty obvious indication that he was leaning towards signing with them. His suspension could have be longer, but the league ultimately chose to give him a reasonable three-game suspension because of the fact thatย he had no prior criminal record.

It would still make sense for the Vikings to add another receiver at some point in the draft.
