Vikings Work Out Free Agent RB Dion Lewis

According to a league source, the Vikings tried out free agent RB Dion Lewis Wednesday, via Pro Football Talk.

It should come as no surprise that Minnesota is looking for help at the running back position.  With RB Adrian Peterson‘s suspension, the Vikings have been forced to rely on RB Matt Asiata and on rookie RB Jerick McKinnon.

Now that the starting quarterback position belongs to Teddy Bridgewater, the Vikings are certainly going to have to try and boost the running game to complement the rookie.

Lewis was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2011. He was traded to the Browns in 2013, but released before the beginning of this season.  The Colts signed him earlier this month, but he was released to make room for DT Kelcy Quarles.

Lewis has rushed for 171 yards on 36 carries in his career.
