Vikings Worked Out 4 RBs Including Stevan Ridley

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Vikings brought in four free agent running backs for workouts on Wednesday including Stevan Ridley, Troymaine Pope, Bobby Rainey and Josh Rounds.

The Vikings elected to sign Ridley to a contract Thursday morning (NFLTR).

Ridley, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract before signing a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Jets back in April of 2015.

Ridley would later join the Lions last year and had a brief stint with the Colts before signing on with the Falcons last October. Unfortunately, he was cut loose after another just a month or so in Atlanta.

The Broncos signed Ridley to a contract at the start of training camp but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Ridley appeared in one game for the Falcons and recorded just seven yards on three carries.

Rainey, 29, wound up signing on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in 2012. He spent over a year in Baltimore before being waived at the start of the 2013 season and later claimed by the Browns.

Rainey lasted just a few months in Cleveland before he was once again waived and this time claimed by the Buccaneers. The Giants signed him to a one-year contract last April.Rainey signed on with the Ravens back in July but was among their final roster cuts.
