ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that both Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins will report their respective teams this season.
Mortensen mentions that Jackson will report to the Chargers by Oct. 31 and Mankins should be back with the Patriots by Nov. 16 which allow them to earn an accrued season. The reason that Jackson must report sooner is due to the Chargers decision to place him on the roster exempt list.
It looks like both situation turned out to favor the teams more than players despite not having them for the majority of the season. This will ensure that Mankins and Jackson will both become free agents at the end of the season. Neither is expected to re-sign their current teams.
