Vincent Jackson Willing To Give The Chargers A Discount?

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune mentions that “there is (a belief)” that WR Vincent Jackson is willing to give the Chargers a discount in a long-term contract extension.

The two sides met yesterday and while there was no official offer made by either side, it’s a small sign of progress. We learned that there are at least 12 teams believed to be interested in Jackson and the Chargers are willing to offer something in the range of $10-$11 million over the course of five-years.

If Jackson is willing to give them a discount, you would have to think that A.J. Smith would come close to meeting his demands at that point. Losing Jackson would create another hole for a team that’s already in need of a number of upgrades.
