Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Washington S Landon Collins is believed to have suffered a season-ending Achilles injury.
According to Garafolo, Collins is Scheduled to undergo an MRI tomorrow but the team expecting bad news there.
Collins suffered what looked like a non-contact injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Cowboys and was later carted off the field.
Collins texted Josina Anderson that he felt his Achilles “pop” today.
“I can’t feel my foot,” Collins said, while added that surgery is coming. “I’m in God’s hands.”
Odds are Washington will place Collins on injured reserve in the coming days.
Collins, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $6.12 million rookie contract before agreeing to a six-year, $84 million deal with Washington that includes $45 million guaranteed.
Collins stands to make a base salary of $10,000,000 in 2020 and another $12.5 million in 2021.
