Seattle has already stated publicly that barring an injury, Matt Hasselbeck will be the teams starting quarterback this season but hasn’t stopped people within the media from speculating about this situation. Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com suggested that Charlie Whitehurst might be in line for more reps with the teams No. 1 unit.
Whitehurst has already gone entire practices with the first-team unit which suggests that head coach Pete Carroll is interested in seeing what they have with Whitehurst. In Saturday’s game against the Titans, he threw for 214 yards on 14-for-22 passing, with two touchdowns which was a pretty good showing all around.
If Hasselbeck struggles early on this season, the team will be forced to contemplate a move considering what they gave up to acquire him.
