Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Wisconsin CB Nick Nelson suffered a torn meniscus during a private workout for a team and will undergo surgery next week.
According to Rapoport, Nelson is expected to miss 3-4 months following this injury, but should still be healthy for the start of the 2018 season.
This is the second reported knee injury for a draft prospect this week. Rapoport says that agents are getting to the point where they’re telling their clients to not work out for teams unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Nelson actually began his college career at Hawaii where he played for two seasons before transferring to Wisconson for the 2017 season.
For his career, Nelson recorded 122 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, 41 pass defenses and no interceptions.
