Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that Browns WR Josh Gordon is now one failed drug test away from a one-year suspension.
Gordon’s February failed drug test for codeine was the second offense in his career, meaning he had already failed a previous drug test or he entered the league with a strike on already on his record sheet.
The failed drug test has Gordon suspended for the first two games of the season and is now in Stage 3 of the NFL’s drug program, meaning that one more failed test would automatically suspend the Baylor product for an entire year.
If suspended, a player has to apply y for reinstatement after the suspension and will then be up to commissioner Roger Goodell to decide when said player can return.
