AFC Notes: Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Colts

Bills

  • Bills WR Jordan Matthews announced via his Twitter account Thursday that he underwent left knee and right ankle surgery.
  • Bills backup QB Nathan Peterman is still in concussion protocol following Thursday’s practice, which leaves his status for Sunday’s game in doubt. (Mike Rodak)
  • Bills QB/WR Joe Webb wore a blue jersey in practice Thursday, which implies that he’ll be Buffalo’s No. 3 quarterback in Week 15 behind Tyrod Taylor and Peterman.
  • Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) and Peterman (concussion) were both upgraded to full participation for Thursday’s practice and Taylor (knee) remained a full participant. (Mike Rodak)
  • Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) put in a limited practice on Thursday along with TE Charles Clay (knee), OT Cordy Glenn (foot, ankle), WR Andre Holmes (neck) and DT Kyle Williams (groin).

Browns

Browns new GM John Dorsey said he had no issues whatsoever cutting veteran WR Kenny Britt last week.

“I have no problem making that decision,” Dorsey said Thursday on WKNR 850, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “From a cultural standpoint, I don’t think he fits in the prototypical character point of what I’m looking for in terms of a leader. He did not live up to his expectations as a player.

Dorsey added Britt “may have a higher opinion of himself than I have of him as a player, so I thought that was easy.

Chiefs

Colts

Ian Rapoport reports that Colts HC Chuck Pagano is well aware of the fact that his job is likely in danger after this season.

Colts owner Jim Irsay told Rapoport that no decision regarding Pagano’s future has been made at this point.

“Right now, I don’t have anything new one way or the other to report on,” Irsay said.

However, Rapoport adds that the Colts’ coaching staff know very well that they may not return to Indianapolis next year.
