AFC Notes: Chargers, Colts, Ravens

Chargers

Chargers TE Virgil Green says it’s been an easy adjustment in terms of working with QB Philip Rivers this offseason.

“It hasn’t been that tough just because a guy like Phil knows exactly what he wants,” Green said, via Chargers.com. “The coaches are all on board with what Phil wants. When you have a place where everybody’s on the same page because they know exactly what the quarterback wants because he’s been doing it so long, it makes it easy to adjust.

Colts

  • Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan writes that the Colts could obviously use some more depth at cornerback heading into the 2018 season and both Western Michigan’s Sam Beal and Virginia Tech’s Adonis Alexander are potentially worth selecting in this year’s Supplemental draft.
  • Bowen says that Beal would be an ideal fit as a press corner, but both players could be worth investing a mid-round pick.
  • Bowen notes that the Colts have an extra second-round pick to work with next year and they could end up securing a fourth-round compensatory pick for losing Donte Moncrief in free agency.

Ravens

According to Ravens first-round TE Hayden Hurst, both Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson trust him to make plays.

“It’s been awesome,” Hurst said of working with the two quarterbacks during an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio. “They both bring different things to the table. Joe has an extremely talented arm. He’s been doing it for years, Super Bowl MVP. And, of course, Lamar brings a whole different dynamic with his legs to the game. Both of those guys can throw it where they want it. They’ll put it up even when I’m not open and they trust me to go make a play. And that’s what I tell them I’m going to do: ‘If you’re ever in trouble, just put it up. I’m going to make a play for you guys.’”
