AFC South Notes: Colts, Texans, Titans

Colts

Colts QB Andrew Luck admitted he was nervous before Thursday’s preseason game against the Seahawks, it felt “natural” to be back playing football.

The first play is always a little nerve-wracking in any game, in a sense, but especially this one,” Luck said. “After that it sort of slowed down and the rhythm, the flow of the huddle, calling a play, knowing where the play clocks are, getting to the line of scrimmage, showing what your cues are, that operation takes over. For lack of better word, it felt natural.

Luck took a hit from Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner but was able to shrug it off.

“I think there was a sense of ‘OK, get hit, get up, make sure you’re not broken in half on the field.’ It was probably the most excited I have been and will ever be for getting hit,” Luck said.

Texans

Texans HC Bill O’Brien offered some praise for newly signed DE Angelo Blackson.

Look, he’s a big, strong guy,” said O’Brien, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “Good guy, good teammate. I thought he played tough last night. He was active.”

O’Brien added that DEs Brandon Dunn and Christian Covington also “did some nice things” during Friday’s preseason game.

I thought him and Brandon Dunn did some nice things in there – Christian Covington. I think as long as Angelo keeps the mindset of trying to get better each and every day, I think he’ll be fine.”
