SCOUT Fantasy Sports reports that Bills C Eric Wood has suffered a career-ending neck injury.

Adam Schefter has confirmed the news and adds that Wood‘s injury is partly due to wear and tear, but one source characterized it as a “complicated medical situation.

Earlier in the day, Scout Fantasy Sports reported that an unnamed offensive starter for the Bills suffered a “career-ending injury” injury and the team is scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday.

Wood, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2009. He was in the final year of his five-year, $27.7 million contract when he signed two-year, $21.275 million extension through 2019 with the Bills in 2017.

In 2017, Wood appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 16 center out of 37 qualifying players.
