Broncos Promote K Brandon McManus To Active Roster, Waive Isaiah Burse

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos have promoted K Brandon McManus to their active roster and placed Isaiah Burse on waivers.

According to Klis, the move was expected as the Broncos intend to use McManus on kickoffs with recently signed K Connor Barth handling their field goal attempts.

Barth wound up making 5-of-5 field goal attempt in his Week 13 Broncos debut. Denver wound up signing McManus to their practice squad on Friday.

The Broncos sent a a conditional seventh-round draft pick to the Giants in return for McManus before the start of the season after Matt Prater was suspended for four games.

Denver later made the decision to parts ways with Prater once he was ready to be reinstated and go with McManus as their place kicker, but he ultimately struggled, converting 9 of 13 field goal attempts (69.2%) and has missed both of his attempts from 50 yards or more.
