Buccaneers LB Kwon Alexander Facing 4-Game Suspension, Will Appeal

Buccaneers rookie LB Kwon Alexander told reporters after Sunday’s win over the Eagles that he plans to appeal four-game suspension, per Roy Cummings.

Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reports Buccaneers LB Kwon Alexander is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The NFL is expected to send out a notice regarding the matter on Monday, so Alexander will still be able to suit up for Week 11’s game against the Eagles.

Alexander will still have an opportunity to appeal any suspension he receives for this matter.

Alexander, 21, was taken in the fourth round out of LSU by the Buccaneers. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $2,758,320 rookie contract that includes $478,320 fully guaranteed.

He’ll make base salaries of $435,000 (2015), $525,000 (2016), $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018) over the remainder of the contract.

This season, Alexander has recorded 63 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and seven pass defenses over the course of nine games for the Buccaneers.
