Cowboys Sign QB Jameill Showers To Practice Squad

The Dallas Cowboys have officially signed QB Jameill Showers to their practice squad on Monday.

Brandon George reports that QB Jameill Showers passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday and is expected to be signed to the Cowboys’ practice squad at some point in the near future.

As of now, the Cowboys’ practice squad consists of:

  1. DE Ryan Russell
  2. TE Rico Gathers
  3. C Jake Brendel
  4. WR Andy Jones
  5. LB Deon King
  6. WR Vince Mayle
  7. TE Austin Taylor

Showers, 24, wound up going undrafted out of UTEP back in May of last year before signing a three-year, $1.425 million contract with the Cowoys.

The Cowboys cut him loose this past weekend and signed veteran QB Mark Sanchez to be their backup.

Showers completed 266 of 474 passing attempts for 3,121 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions over the course of two years at UTEP.
