Eagles Release WR Rashard Davis From Practice Squad, Sign DE Alex McCalister

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DE Alex McCalister to their practice squad and released WR Rashard Davis from the unit.

The Eagles’ practice squad now consists of:

  3. LB Nate Gerry
  4. T Dillon Gordon
  5. RB Byron Marshall
  6. QB Nate Sudfeld
  7. DB De’Vante Bausby
  8. WR Greg Ward

  10. DE Alex McCalister

Davis, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of James Madison back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Eagles cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

During his college career, Davis caught 114 passes for 1,549 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns over the course of 50 games. He also rushed for 203 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns. As a returner, Davis totaled 489 punt return yards and four touchdowns and 363 kick return yards.
