Mark Eckel of NJ.com recently reported that the Eagles and Thornton are believed to be working on a multi-year contract, so this could be something to keep an eye on the coming months.
Thornton, 26, signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Arkansas back in 2011.
Last year, Thornton appeared in 16 games and recorded 52 tackles, one sack, three fumbles recoveries, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 defensive end in a 3-4 defense out of 47 qualifying players in 2014.
