Eagles Sign LB Don Cherry To Practice Squad, Waive G Darrell Greene

The  Philadephia Eagles announced that they’ve signed LB Don Cherry to their practice squad on Tuesday and waived G Darrell Greene from the unit.

The Eagles’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. RB Byron Marshall
  2. DT Aziz Shittu
  3. WR David Watford
  4. WR Paul Turner
  5. C Aaron Neary
  6. QB Aaron Murray
  7. G Matt Rotherman
  8. DB Duke Thomas
  9. TE Anthony Denham
  10. LB Don Cherry

Greene, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State back in May. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and has been on and off of their practice squad ever since.

Cherry, 21, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova back in May. However, he lasted just over a month in Chicago before the Bears placed him on waivers.

The Eagles signed him to a contract in July but he was unfortunately among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Cherry was later signed to their practice squad before being cut loose last week. The Eagles just recently brought him back.

During his four-year college career, Cherry recorded 258 tackles, 14 sacks, seven forced fumbles, two recoveries, one interception and seven pass defenses for the Wildcats.
