Linebacker Bart Scott Drawing Interest from Teams

UPDATE:

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that Scott is in phenomenal shape. Scott’s body fat percentage is under 6 percent while his weight is at just 236 pounds, according to Pelissero.

He also reports that three teams – the Chiefs, Bills and Lions – inquired about Scott’s services prior to their respective training camps.

Pelissero’s best guess as to where Scott will land is with the Ravens and possibly the Giants.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Jets linebacker Bart Scott is drawing interest from NFL clubs and intends to sign somewhere this week.

Scott, who was released by New York in February as a cap causality, hasn’t drawn much interest publicly this offseason. This is the first real showing of a franchise desiring his services thus far.

The former undrafted Southern Illinois product has spent his entire career in the AFC playing for the Ravens from 2002-2008 and most recently the Jets from 2008 til this last year.

It’s currently unknown which teams are interested and even if the teams drawing interest plan to use him as a starter. Scott’s NFL career has been spent primarily playing in 3-4 schemes as an inside backer, so that could help filter out rumored teams.
