Lions Sign LB Thurston Armbrister To Practice Squad, Release C Leo Kolomatangi

The Detroit Lions announced Friday that they’ve signed LB Thurston Armbrister to their practice squad and released C Leo Koloamatangi from the unit.

The Lions’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Dontez Ford (Injured)
  2. DE Earl Okine
  3. TE Hakeem Valles
  4. WR Andy Jones
  5. QB Brad Kaaya
  6. OT Dan Skipper
  7. DB Adairius Barnes
  8. WR Jace Billingsley
  9. DB Stefan McClure
  10. DE Jeremiah Valoaga
  11. LB Thurston Armbrister

Armbrister, 24, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2015. He was able to crack Jacksonville’s active roster and played out a full year with the team before being waived.

The Lions claimed him off waivers in September of last year and was also able to make the team’s active roster.

Detroit waived him back in September and signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers. He had a brief stint on their active roster this season.

In 2016, Armbrister appeared in 14 games for the Lions and recorded 15 total tackles.
