No Talks Regarding A Contract Extension For Josh Freeman

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the Buccneers and QB Josh Freeman have yet to begin talks regarding a contract extension.

It’s really kind of wait and see,” said Freeman’s father. “I don’t think either side feels like there’s any reason to do something before (2013).

Freeman, 24, has two years remaining on his rookie contract and is coming off of a fairly underwhelming 2011 season while the team just spend a lot of money on free agents Vincent Jackson, Carl Nicks and Eric Wright. All things considered, it’s probably a wise move to put off an extension until they see what the team looks like next season.
