Ravens Place WR Michael Campanaro On Season-Ending I.R.

Jeff Zrebiec reports that the Ravens are placing WR Michael Campanaro on season-ending injured reserve Saturday with a back injury.

Campanaro reportedly needed to use a wheel chair following Thursday night’s game, but there was some optimism that his injury wouldn’t season-ending.

Apparently, it was bad enough for the Ravens to shut him down and look for help elsewhere.

Baltimore completed a trade with the Rams this morning for WR Chris Givens to bolster their depth at the receiver position. However, Steve Smith is reportedly dealing with four broken bones in his back.

Campanaro, 24, is in the second year of his four-year, $2.287 million rookie contract that included a $67,500 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $510,000 (2015), $600,000 (2016), and $690,000 (2017) over the remainder of the agreement.

This season, Campanaro has appeared in four games and recorded five receptions for 35 yards receiving to go along with two carries for 17 yards rushing and a touchdown.
