Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that another Buccaneers player has been diagnosed with an MRSA infection.

  • Stroud mentioned that Carl Nicks, WR Mike Williams, and CB Johnthan Banks were not present during Friday’s practice.

Just yesterday, reports came out that G Carl Nicks has suffered a reoccurrence of the MRSA staph infection in his left foot.

Meanwhile, league officials were in Tampa Bay on Thursday to discuss the handling of MRSA and other infectious diseases, according to Tom Pelissero.

  • Pelissero adds that “the fear at this point is there may have been more than one infectious disease in locker room.

The Buccaneers with hold a pres conference on Friday at 1:45 eastern time to discuss the situation.

This is a very serious issue, as MRSA infections can be spread by skin-to-skin contact with an infected party. We’ll have more as the news is available.
