Seahawks & Ndamukong Suh Hoping To Set Up Visit This Week

According to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports, the Seahawks are still in contention to sign free agent DT Ndamukong Suh, but have yet to schedule a visit.

Schultz says there’s “mutual interest” between both parties and they’re hoping to set up a visit at some point this week.

Suh tells Schultz that his recent meetings with the Saints and Titans both went well and he came away impressed by the two teams.

Schultz previously reported that Suh wants to take his time with this process and evaluate a “plethora of options” with his family, so it’s possible he’ll take more visits in the coming days.

It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Suh, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Lions back in 2010. He spent five years in Detroit before signing a six-year, $114 million contract that included $60 million guaranteed with the Dolphins a few years ago.

Suh was set to make base salaries of $16.985 million (2018), $18.985 million (2019), and $18.36 million (2020) over the remainder of the contract when the Dolphins designated him as a post-June 1 release.

In 2017, Suh appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and recorded 48 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 5 interior defender out of 122 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
