Terrell Owens Close To Signing With A Team?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported yesterday that there’s one team that happens to be “very interested” in WR Terrell Owens, according to Drew Rosenhaus. Pro Football Talk reported that the team plays in the AFC which helps to narrow it down a bit.

Tom Curran of CSN New England reported that Rosenhaus attended the Eagles-Patriots game was seen on the Patriots’ sideline.

New England has been without a deep threat for the entire season as Chad Ochocinco has to contribute so Owens would fill one of their biggest needs. Then again, the fact that Rosenhaus was seen on New England’s sideline may not have anything to do with Owens as he currently represents DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy who just happen to be in need of new contracts.

Other speculative options that have come up are the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and the Houston Texans but of these teams, the Titans would make the most the sense. Since losing Kenny Britt the Titans have become more conservative in the passing game which has resulted in more attention to stopping the run and intermediate passing routes. Owens could help them stretch the field which could open things up for Chris Johnson.
