Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon To Visit With Ravens

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon is scheduled to visit the Ravens prior to the draft.

This shouldn’t come as a big surprise, seeing as draft prospects will end up meeting with a number of teams over the next month, and the Ravens could use another running back, even after they re-signed Justin Forsett.

  • Getlin previously reported that Gordon will visit with the Cardinals and Cowboys in the coming weeks.
  • Dane Brugler reported the Chargers and Jets have both shown a “ton” of interest in Gordon during his recent Pro Day.

There was a lot of talk last year that Gordon would have been the No. 1 running back drafted had he declared. However, Gordon elected to remain at Wisconsin and make a run at the Heisman Trophy, which he wound up finishing as the runner up to Oregon QB Marcus Mariota.

Gordon could still be the first running back taken, but many draft experts believe Georgia RB Todd Gurley is the best prospect, even though he sustained a torn ACL last year.

During his four-year college career, Gordon ran for 4,915 yards on 631 carries (7.8 YPC) to go along with 22 receptions for 228 yards receiving and 49 total touchdowns for the Badgers.
