According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, 10 NFL teams have expressed interest in free agent DT Gerald McCoy since he was released by the Buccaneers.
Stroud reports that McCoy has received offers as high as $11 million per year from interested teams.
McCoy is taking his first visit to Cleveland on Friday to meet with the Browns, so they appear to be the team to beat at this point in time.
We’ve seen several teams linked to McCoy in recent days including the Panthers, Colts, Bengals, Patriots, Ravens, Saints, and Falcons.
McCoy, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He was in the fifth year of his seven-year, $95.2 million contract and set to make a base salary of $13 million in 2019 when the Buccaneers released him.
In 2018, McCoy appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 28 tackles, six sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 interior defender out of 112 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
