Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that Packers HC Mike McCarthy taking back play-calling duties starting for today’s game against the Cowboys.
The Packers’ offense has been extremely disappointing this season, and while there have been a number of issues you can point to, many have wondered whether they would be better off with McCarthy calling their plays.
McCarthy is considered to be one of the best play-callers in the NFL, so his decision to hand over the duties to Tom Clements can as a bit of a surprise during the offseason.
Green Bay is currently 8-4 and atop the NFC North, but they’ll need a strong finish in order for them secure a playoff bye, seeing as the Cardinals and Panthers are in the drivers seat in the NFC.
We’ll see if the offensive changes lead to better production later today.
