Mike Garafolo of FOX Sportsย reports that there has been a lot of talk that Giants HC Tom Coughlin could resign on Monday.
“This is a different Tom Coughlin, and I think he’s ready to move away,” Garafolo said. “A lot of people are talking as if it’s an inevitability that on Monday he is going to resign. I am hearing that from a lot of people.”
Following the team’s loss to the Panthers, Coughlin was seen on the field playing with his grand kids. People seem to think this is a different Tom Coughlin, according to Garafolo.
The Giants head-coaching position could be a popular job if it were to end up being available.
Garafolo mentions that the only issue in regards to the Giants’ position could be that ownership has maintained that they want a GM and a head coach to work together, rather than give one guy full control of the team.
Coughlin, 69, is in his 12th season as Giants’ head coach and has led them to a record of 102-89 (53.4 percent) to go along with five playoff appearances and two Super Bowl titles.
We’ll have more regarding Coughlin’s future with the team as the news is available.
