The Carolina Panthers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed five players to future/reserve contracts including WR Cobi Hamilton.
The other players signed to contracts include G Tyler Larsen, C Matt Masifilo, DE Larry Webster, DT Eric Crume and CB Travell Dixon.
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.
Hamilton, 24, is a former sixth round pick of the Bengals back 2013. He was unfortunately unable to make the team coming out of the preseason that year, but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
Heย briefly played forย the Eaglesย in 2014 before returning to Bengals mid-season and later being claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins.
However, he was among Miami’s final roster cuts and didn’t sign on with a team during the 2015 season.
Hamilton has yet to appear in an NFL game.
