Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that former Ramsย DE Chris Long has “more than a little interest” from NFL teams right now.
According to Thomas, Long plans to begin taking visits with prospective teams after birth of first child, who’s due date is Wednesday.
Last we heard regarding Long, he had interest fromย contending teams, according toย Peter King of MMQB.com.
King doesn’t offer any specifics regarding which teams are interested in Long, but some speculative optionsย — both contenders and noncontenders —ย could include: theย Falcons, Panthers, Cowboys, Lions, Jaguars, Giants, Raiders, Seahawks, and Buccaneers.
Long, 30, wasย in the final year of hisย five-year, $60.31 million contract andย was set to make a base salary ofย $9.75 million for the 2016 season when he was released.
In 2015, Long appeared in 12 games and recorded 19 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble for the Rams.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 edge defenderย out of 110 qualifying players.
