According to Matt Maiocco, the 49ers are activating WR Deebo Samuel from the non-football injury list.
Samuel sustained a broken foot back in June, so this is extremely fortunate news for the 49ers ahead of Week 1 given he’s poised to be their No. 1 receiver.
Samuel, 24, was the No. 36 overall pick by the 49ers out of South Carolina in 2019. He’s entering the second year of a four-year, $7,697,356 rookie contract that includes a $3,618,076 signing bonus.
In 2019, Samuel appeared in 15 games for the 49ers and caught 57 passes for 802 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 14 rush attempts for 159 yards and another three touchdowns.
