The San Francisco 49ers officially claimed DT Xavier Cooper off of waivers from the Browns on Sunday.
Cooper, 25, is a former third-round pick out of Washington State by the 49ers in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the third year out of a four-year, $2.907 million rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $615,00 this season.
In 2016, Cooper appeared in 13 games for the Browns and recorded 20 total tackles.
