The San Francisco 49ers officially designated DB Marcell Harris to return from injured reserve on Thursday.
This officially opens a three-week window of time for the 49ers to add Harris to their active roster or his 2018 season would be over.
Harris, 24, was selected in the sixth round of this year’s NFL draft by the 49ers. He was placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason with a hamstring injury.
During his college career at Florida, Harris recorded 102 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, a pass defense, a forced fumble, a recovery and one defensive touchdown over the course of four years and 27 games.
