An MRI confirmed that 49ers DL Solomon Thomas also suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s game against the Jets and he’ll be out the season, per Nick Wagoner.
This comes shortly after the news that 49ers DE Nick Bosa also sustained a season-ending ACL tear.
You can expect the 49ers to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.
Thomas, 25, was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The 49ers traded down from the No. 2 pick to select Thomas, who is in the final year of a four-year, $28.15 million deal.
The 49ers declined to pick up Thomas’ option for the 2021 season back in April, which means he’ll be an unrestricted free agent next year.
In 2020, Thomas appeared in two games for the 49ers and recorded two tackles.
