Adam Schefter reports that at least three teams in the past week have inquired about 49ers veteran WR Pierre Garcon.
Schefter says that San Francisco has listened to what others are offering and trade talks are expected to continue in the days leading up to the trade deadline.
Given that the 49ers are unlikely to make the playoffs, Schefter says they could part with Garcon and recoup a draft pick to aid their rebuild.
Garcon, 32, is a former sixth-round pick of the Colts back in 2008. He played four seasons for the Colts before joining the Redskins in 2012.
The 49ers signed Garcon to a five-year, $47.5 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed last year. He stands to make base salaries of $6.62 million and $5.6 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Garcon has appeared in seven games for the 49ers and caught 21 passes for 230 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
We’ll have more regarding a trade involving Garcon as the news is available.
