The San Francisco 49ers expect to have the services of QB Jimmy Garoppolo by the time the team starts OTAs, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Garoppolo tore his ACL in Week 3 on Sept. 23. He had surgery to repair the ligament on Oct. 3. Last year, the 49ers started their OTAs on May 21.
Garoppolo, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2014. The Patriots traded him to the 49ers in 2017 at the trade deadline in return for a 2018 second-round pick.
Garoppolo was in line to be an unrestricted free agent when the 49ers signed him to a five-year, $137.5 million contract during the 2018 offseason.
In 2018, Garoppolo appeared in three games for the 49ers and completed 59.6 percent of his passes for 718 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 33 yards.
