49ers LB Kwon Alexander Out For Season With Torn Pectoral

Adam Schefter reports that 49ers LB Kwon Alexander suffered a torn pectoral during Thursday’s win over the Cardinals.

This injury will cost Alexander the remainder of the 2019 season and lead to him being placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Following the game, the 49ers were holding out hope that this may not be a season-ending issue for Alexander, but Kyle Shanahan indicated a few hours ago that it turned out to be worse than they initially feared.

Alexander, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,758,320 contract before agreeing to a four-year contract worth $54 million with the 49ers this offseason.

Alexander suffered a torn ACL he suffered last year.

In 2019, Alexander appeared in eight games for the 49ers and recorded 34 tackles, a half sack, an interception, a forced fumble and four pass defenses.
