49ers Place LB Brock Coyle On IR, Promote OL Najee Toran

The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that they’ve placed LB Brock Coyle on injured reserve and promoted OL Najee Toran to the active roster.

  • San Francisco also signed WR Frank Stephens to the practice squad.

The 49ers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Steven Dunbar Jr.
  2. TE Ross Dwelley
  3. CB Emmanuel Moseley
  4. QB Nick Mullens
  5. DB Tyvis Powell
  6. LB Pita Taumoepenu
  7. RB Jeff Wilson Jr.
  8. OL Zack Golditch
  9. DE Daeshon Hall
  10. WR Frank Stephens

Coyle, 27, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Montana back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract, but Seattle declined to make him an offer sheet last years, which allowed him to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

The 49ers later signed him to a one-year contract before re-signing him to a three-year, $8.4 million contract that included $4.1 million guaranteed. Coyle stands to make base salaries of 900,000 and $2.05 million over the next two years.

In 2018, Coyle appeared one game for the 49ers and recorded six tackles and no sacks.
